Description

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S POSITION:
The client provides educational, therapeutic, recreational, and residential programs for individuals with disabilities and special needs. The Long-Term Substitute Teacher will support students in specialized classrooms, maintaining instructional continuity when lead teachers are unavailable.

CLIENT'S LOCATION:
Positions are located in Northbrook and Skokie areas.

DESCRIPTION OF CLIENT'S DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Deliver instruction in alignment with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the clients curriculum
* Adapt lessons for diverse learning needs and abilities
* Collaborate with aides, therapists, and other service providers
* Implement and monitor behavior management strategies
* Maintain accurate documentation (attendance, behavior, academic progress)
* Communicate effectively with staff and parents regarding student progress
* Manage classroom transitions and maintain a structured, positive learning environment


CLIENT QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with special needs (school, residential, or therapeutic setting)
* Valid IL State teaching certificate (PEL) or substitute teacher license
* Knowledge of special education best practices, behavior intervention, and IEP processes
* Strong communication, flexibility, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications (BOUNS)
* Experience in programs for autism, sensory, or communication-impaired learners
* Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
* Background in modifying or adapting curriculum for special education
