SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
* Communicate with the site director, administration, fellow teachers, service staff, parents and guardians
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of all students
* Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with curriculum standards and objectives
* Work with parents and other community members to meet student learning need
* Be alert & implement a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
* Assess student learning through ongoing observation, evaluation, and feedback
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student achievement and well-being
* Attend and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge; provide instruction of students by developing, selecting and modifying instructional plans and material and presenting them using instructional techniques which meet the needs of all students
*Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines as outlined by state and district policies

CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Education or related field is required
* Minimum 1 year of Classroom experience
* Valid teaching certification/license in Washington DC preferred;
* Demonstrated knowledge of instructional best practices and educational theories;
* Experience in writing and monitoring IEPs and communicating with families and service providers to support students; excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process
* Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred
* Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
