Description
One of our clients is actively seeking PRN (as needed) staff to help with the Homeless Population on cold nights below freezing. Shifts will vary depending on weather.In collaboration with the Nashville community, The Office of Homeless Services will launch and operate a Cold Weather Overflow Shelter to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness during severe winter conditions. This shelter will provide emergency indoor accommodation from November 1 through March 31, with potential additional shifts available before and after the season to assist with setup and wrap-up operations.
CLIENT HOURS
Shifts will vary depending on weather.
Shift times when shelter is open
* 4PM-12AM
* 4AM-9AM
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Assist and monitor all shelter attendees.
* Maintain shelter count of all shelter guests with routine room checks.
* Staff must brief the next shift before they leave the shelter.
* Report any incidents and or issues to the OHS Emergency Services Manager.
* May be required to receive and prepare food for meals.
* Monitor shelter count.
* Each staff must ensure that the shelter schedule is adhered to, and all rules are being followed by guests.
* Each staff is responsible for cleaning up prior to the next shift reporting
* First shift staff must work with the OHS shelter manager to ensure that the shelter is prepared to open.
* When the shelter is closing staff must coordinate with the OHS shelter manager to assist in this process.
* The ideal candidate must demonstrate schedule flexibility and understand that shelter openings are forecasted on a weekly basis but are officially confirmed with a minimum of 24-hour notice
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Ability to pass a TN statewide and nationwide state criminal background check.
