Description

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S POSITION:
The Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher will step into established classrooms on short notice to maintain instructional continuity, supervise students, and support the clients mission of inclusive learning for individuals with disabilities. The substitute will follow lesson plans, uphold behavior expectations, and ensure student safety in the absence of the regular teacher.

CLIENT'S LOCATION:
Positions are located in Northbrook and Skokie areas.

DESCRIPTION OF CLIENT'S DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Follow classroom schedules and lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or program lead
* Deliver instruction and support student engagement
* Manage classroom behavior according to the clients policies and student support plans
* Ensure student safety and report incidents or concerns as needed
* Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment
* Collaborate with staff and aides for smooth transitions and continuity
* Complete attendance, logs, and communication notes for program staff
* Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate flexibility in assignments

REQUIRED CLIENT QUALIFICATIONS
* Valid IL state teaching or substitute teacher certification
* Experience working with students with special needs or disabilities
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* Patience, empathy, and flexibility
* Ability to meet physical requirements (standing, assisting students, etc.)

Preferred: Special education experience or training in behavior supports
