Description
Our client in Nassau County, NY is searching for a Certified Paraprofessional (for a long term 1099 contract) to support students in the classroom by assisting teachers with instruction, reinforcing learning activities, and helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.Hours vary by location. Compensation starting at $20/hour.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED
Paraprofessional Experience (at least 1 year)
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
The below enumerated principal responsibilities are inclusive of both program specific and firm-wide related administration, as applicable.
1. Work with individual children or groups of children during instructional activities and special projects planned by the teacher.
2. Work cooperatively as member of team assisting in related instructional work as required; and assisting pupils in the use of available instructional resources and the development of instructional materials.
3. Provide information about the children that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences.
4. Assist the teacher with planning instructional activities and materials thereby utilizing their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as: foreign languages, arts, crafts, music and similar subjects if assigned to a specific classroom for five (5) days or more.
5. Escort students throughout and outside of the building and outside of the classroom.
6. Attend team meeting conferences as appropriate.
7. Follow policies and procedures of school.
8. Perform other related duties as requested.
